"Soft in sound, but emotionally powerful."

"This superb track from White Lion passed me by in 1988. I was only 14, and other things had my attention.
It came back into my life four years later. I wince when I admit this, but I thought the singer was David Lee Roth. Sorry, Mike Tramp. I clearly needed my eyes tested.
I soon learned the truth. I caught the band near the end, before they split in 1991.
‘When The Children Cry’ comes from Pride, their second album, and for me, their best. It closes the record perfectly. Soft in sound, but emotionally powerful. Tramp’s voice sits right where it should. Vito Bratta adds a delicate, expressive touch on guitar.
They never quite broke through in the UK. Still, this song and Pride hold strong memories for me, even if I got the singer wrong at first."
