"...but it sounds cool and MTV loved the video"

Lets Dive Deeper!

Released in 1984, when I was the tender age of 10, this was another great ‘one-hit wonder’ song I caught up with while playing one of the many GTA video games. I remember hunting this song on YouTube and playing the hell out of it, mainly due to the futuristic keyboard sounds at the beginning, I love this part, I think it’s the kid in me!

For those of you who don’t know the group, they formed in 1983 and rumour has it, it was this very tune that secured them a record deal, when they performed it as an opening act for David Lee Roth, is it true? Well, who knowns, but it sounds cool and MTV loved the video, so let’s go with it! According to guitarist, Steve Lynch, the record company didn’t even want It on the album, so …

Anyway, the song did well, and then that was basically it for the band in terms of hits! They released 8 albums, with the last one surfacing in 2022 with Randy Rand the surviving member from the original quintet.
