"Never that big over here for some inexplicable reason"

Dave

Lets Dive Deeper!

"Although they weren't the first Southern Rock band I got into big time (that was Blackfoot), or even the second (that was Lynyrd Skynyrd), the fact that they were probably the heaviest always meant that Molly Hatchet would become my go to favourite in the genre.

Unlike the fatally hamstrung parody that exists today, the definitive Molly Hatchet in their late 70s/early 80s heyday were just awesome to behold, and this epic, from 1983's seminal 'No Guts... No Glory' album, could rival 'Free Bird' any day of the week! With that Hlubek/Roland/Holland triple guitar attack and the commanding vocals of Danny Joe Brown there was no stopping them, and to this day I still regularly dig out 1985's smokin' 'Double Trouble Live' set.

Never that big over here for some inexplicable reason, Molly Hatchet will still symbolize everything that stood proud for Southern Rock to these ears."
