"...some Alchemist does manage to recapture that lightning in a bottle..."

Lets Dive Deeper!
"As anyone who knows me will tell you, I've never been the biggest fan of cover versions. Most, to these jaded old ears at least, seem to blithely follow what went before; at best never quite capturing the energy or sparkle of the original, at worst... well, perhaps we won't go there! However, every once in a while, some Alchemist does manage to recapture that lightning in a bottle, in so doing making it as good, if not better, than what came before... and that's exactly what Styx guitarist Tommy Shaw did with this Survivor cover on his third solo album 'Ambition' back in 1987. The addition of the melancholy sax sets it apart from the get go, and every step of the way Shaw remains stoically ahead of the curve, turning what was already a monster ballad into a timeless classic!"
