Lets Dive Deeper!

"The 80s was the era when 'guitar heroes' became ten a penny. Nothing disingenuous meant by that comment, it's just that from being a relatively rarefied gift the decade before, all of a sudden the post Van Halen/Malmsteen musical landscape was littered with players who were literally off the scale. John Norum was, and remains, one of my favourites from that era. This track, lifted from his debut solo album ‘Total Control’ was actually a cover of a song written by Vinnie Vincent and Richard Friedman for the first Vinnie Vincent's Invasion album, but this version with Göran Edman on vocals has always been the definitive one for me. It bristles with passion and melody, it has a hook that buzzes around your head for days (decades even) and features a wonderfully fluid solo from the man himself. Perhaps not the best track on the album, it nevertheless sums up Norum in that era perfectly."
