Scarborough rockers This House We Built release their powerful new single “Broken Dreams”, accompanied by a music video. The track is the third single to be lifted from their second album, Get Out Of The Rain, set for release on 21st November.

Frontman Scott Wardell explains the concept behind the video:

The concept from the video was basically about a man being trapped in an abusive relationship with a woman and struggling to find a way out, eventually breaking free from the chains that hold him and escaping from the wrath of mind bullets and physical abuse.”

Speaking about the album, Scott adds:

“‘Get Out Of The Rain’ has now been mastered and is being pressed to vinyl and CD as we speak. We’ve included plenty of extras – stories of how the songs came together, the creative process, and behind-the-scenes moments in the studio. We wanted to give our loyal fans something really special with this record. The support we’ve had over the past couple of years has been incredible, and thanks to our crowdfunding campaign, this album truly belongs to the fans who have believed in us and become part of the spirit of This House We Built.”

Guitarist Andy Jackson, who takes lead vocals on “Broken Dreams”, describes the song’s creation:

“I was just noodling away when the main riff came to me, and I thought that’s chunky.

I immediately started to record it, so I didn’t forget it and then it just progressed from there with the input from the rest of the lads”.

“Lyrically I always wanted it to be a bit more aggressive sounding than previous songs. With the help of Dave Boothroyd and Scott pushing me to give it some beans in the studio I think I hit that goal in the end.

The songs basically about being trapped in a relationship then having the strength in the end to break free”
