Following their truly appreciated and reputable debut album KEEPERS OF THE LIGHT in 2023, which received massive cheering from the fans and high scores among reviewers both in Sweden and around Europe, Swedish lightkeepers and hard rockers EDGELAND now releases the first single of two from their highly anticipated second album set to release this fall.

Appropriately the single is titled for what it is, THE RELEASE.

However, don´t be fooled- “It has nothing to do with the actual release of the single. It rather explores the confusion and fear of death and if you are ready or, more correctly, willing to cross to the other side. And if you do, will you live to tell about it?” says guitarist Niklas Eriksson. THE RELEASE will be unleashed June 6 on all digital platforms.

The single (and album) is, once again, recorded and mixed by Marcus Edvardsson (Souldrainer) at Metallfabriken Studio in Östersund.

“It is a dark and melodic song with a heavy intro. It has a nice heavy groove with a hook in the unique, but at the same time recognizable chorus”, says Marcus Edvardsson.

Consisting of Jimmy Karlsson (vocals/bass), Niklas Eriksson (guitars) and Magnus Blixt (drums), EDGELAND was founded in 1993 in the small community of Oviken in the north of Sweden, where the guys went to school. Since then, they have played together. During the years under different names and in various constellations but as of 2014 EDGELAND is a consisting, solid and firm hard rock entity to count with. It is with a twinkle in his eye but also with a large scoop of seriousness that singer and bassist Jimmy Karlsson says: “For us to split up, I think it would take a nuclear war…”
