Rather than treating a covers collection as an easy stopgap, Tesla approach Homage with genuine affection and purpose. These songs helped shape the band's musical DNA, and every performance reflects that respect without ever feeling like simple imitation. Jeff Keith's unmistakable rasp brings fresh character to familiar material, while Frank Hannon and Dave Rude strike the perfect balance between tasteful restraint and bluesy bite. The result is an album that celebrates timeless songwriting while still sounding unmistakably like Tesla, proving that authenticity never goes out of fashion.
THE SONGS
The lone original, "Never Alone," sets an uplifting tone before the band breathes new life into Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home." Their heartfelt reading of Queen's "Spread Your Wings" captures the spirit of the original while adding a tougher edge, and "Night Moves" feels so natural in Tesla's hands it could easily be mistaken for one of their own. Elsewhere, "Give A Little Bit" radiates warmth, while a soulful take on "I'd Rather Go Blind" provides one of the album's most affecting moments before "Mind Your Own Business" rounds things off with a grin and a healthy dose of swagger.
