Tygers Of Pan Tang return with an album that puts the emphasis firmly on heavy riffs, powerful vocals and the kind of melodies that have kept this band at the forefront of British metal for generations. Electrifyed finds the NWOBHM stalwarts embracing a more aggressive approach than 2023’s Bloodlines, trading some of that album’s finer intricacies for a direct, muscular sound that feels right at home in the live arena. Founding guitarist Robb Weir remains the one constant, with John Foottit making his recording debut alongside him, while Jacopo “Jack” Meille continues to deliver the vocal power and character that have defined the band’s modern era. The production gives the guitars plenty of weight, and there’s an unmistakable sense of a band reconnecting with the raw energy of their early years. Electrifyed doesn’t attempt to reinvent the Tygers, nor does it need to. This is a confident return to their heavier roots, full of familiar melodic instincts and enough firepower to remind everyone why their name still carries such weight.
