Harem Scarem are a Canadian hard rock and melodic rock band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 1987 by guitarist Pete Lesperance and vocalist Harry Hess. Over a career spanning decades and over a million records sold worldwide, they carved out a reputation as one of AOR's most consistent and beloved acts, and Human Nature is a fine example of why.
From the opening track it's clear that Harem Scarem haven't lost a thing. There are straight-up rockers like the title track and Reality, heartfelt power ballads like Hanging On and Starlight, and even Queen-influenced moments like Give Love/Get Love, a healthy dose of variety that keeps the album listenable all the way through.
All the Harem Scarem ingredients are present: sweet harmonies, flowing guitar solos, and that classic melodic sound that made them icons of the genre. Produced by Harry Hess and Pete Lesperance, with backing vocals from none other than Tony Harnell of TNT, this is melodic hard rock with serious pedigree.
