Hard edged melodic rockers White Skies have released their second single, “88 Crash,” taken from their upcoming sophomore album “Shouting at the Hurricane”, due for release on 29 May via Conquest Music. Friends and family early bird is available from Townsend on 27th March, when the album will also be accessible on streaming services.
“88 Crash” is an anthemic hard rock track with big guitars and vocals which fuses classic 80's swagger with a modern production and a chorus hook that just won't go away. The band have purposely put the guitars to the front of their sound moving away from the more AOR influences on their first album ‘Black Tide’ but keeping the melody and soul that have become the trademark of their song writing.
Lyrically it harks back to the halcyon days of the rocking nights in Soho or the Sunset Strip with a tongue in cheek hookline ‘She went crash and boom, like a wrecking ball straight through the room’. 88 Crash was actually the working title sent over to vocalist Mick White from guitarist Ray Callcut with ‘88’ being the BPM of the track and ‘Crash’ referring to the cymbals throughout the embryonic instrumental. Mick immediately loved the title and started singing the chorus as soon as he heard the music.
The band have shot an accompanying video for the song directed by Sam Cowell of Able Arch Media and it continues the relaxed and stripped down approach they have taken for the new album. The black and white performance video showcases the chemistry of a band that is totally at ease in front of the camera as well as in the live arena and is the perfect foil to the single.
White Skies first made their mark on the rock scene at the end of 2022 with the release of their debut album Black Tide, which received widespread praise across the UK and European rock press. Throughout 2023 and 2024 the band toured extensively across the UK, including support slots with FM, TEN, and Romeo’s Daughter, alongside festival appearances, and headline shows.
Featuring former members of Samson, Ya Ya, Dante Fox, Blood Red Saints, and Red, White & Blues, White Skies are seasoned performers who have quickly built a reputation as a formidable live act, pairing a confident stage presence with their polished, melodic rock songs.

Shouting at the Hurricane will be released 29th May 2026 via Conquest Music.
An exclusive fans and family early purchase will be available from the Townsend Music store from 27 March, including a limited signed CD and sticker bundle. The album will also be accessible on streaming services.
