PHIDEAUX XAVIER

Bad Dog Promotions is proud to announce the return of acclaimed progressive rock visionary Phideaux Xavier with AutoMoto Animus, set for release on July 6, 2026, his first album of new material since 2018's Infernal. Infernal served as the capstone of Phideaux's celebrated Doomsday Afternoon trilogy, a body of work praised by fans and critics alike for its ambitious conceptual scope, cinematic sweep, and emotionally resonant songwriting. With AutoMoto Animus, Phideaux opens an entirely new chapter while retaining the unique musical voice that has made him one of progressive music's most distinctive artists.

Described as "a fable by Phideaux Xavier," AutoMoto Animus is a collection of mysterious, thought-provoking, and sonically seductive songs. Rather than revisiting familiar territory or pursuing a radical reinvention, the album extends and evolves Phideaux's artistic vision, balancing introspection, wit, and imagination across eight compelling tracks.

From the sublime to the absurd, from poignant reflections to moments of ironic humor, AutoMoto Animus invites listeners on a journey that rewards close attention while remaining irresistibly engaging. As Phideaux himself notes, sometimes it even grooves in 4/4.

"I never quite know where a record begins until I notice that it has already happened. AutoMoto Animus is the latest chapter in that continuing accident. The arrangements are streamlined, letting fewer things do more, but the music's strange creative engine is still very much running."

The album was produced by Paul Roessler, recorded at Kitten Robot Studios in Los Angeles between 2021 and 2025, and mixed by Rich Mouser at The Mousehouse.
