Nine Skies

Progressive rock band Nine Skies is proud to announce that Riccardo Romano will be joining the group as its new lead vocalist for all forthcoming releases.

Riccardo has proven to be a natural fit from the very beginning, both musically and personally, following several years of collaboration with the band in studio sessions and live performances.

His contributions can already be heard on tracks such as “Sweetheart Grips” and “The Explorer”, as well as during live appearances including “The Lost (Live @ Nice)”. These experiences have solidified a strong creative chemistry, and the band is enthusiastic about this new chapter together.

In addition to his work with Nine Skies, Riccardo Romano has built a reputation as a highly versatile and expressive artist, bringing depth and emotion to every project he is involved in. A multi-instrumentalist, he performs on keyboards, including piano, Hammond organ, harmonium, synthesizers, and programming, as well as guitars, harp, mandolin, bouzouki, and bass guitar.

Beyond his role as a vocalist, Romano is an accomplished composer, songwriter, arranger, and sound engineer, with a broad and refined musical skill set. He is also known for his work as a keyboardist with progressive rock acts RanestRane, the Steve Rothery Band, and The David Foster Band, further cementing his place within the contemporary prog scene.

In 2017, he launched his solo project Riccardo Romano Land, releasing “B612”, a rock opera inspired by “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The project showcased his talent for storytelling and conceptual composition, earning recognition for its ambition and emotional scope.

Most recently, Romano announced an upcoming collaborative album featuring legendary guitarists Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery, further highlighting his growing presence and influence within the progressive music world.

Riccardo Romano states: "I'm honored by Nine Skies' offer to join them as a vocalist. Every time we've collaborated, whether on individual songs or live performances, I've always felt a deep musical and human connection between us. My musical expression resonates naturally with them, and everything happens as naturally as strings playing at the same frequency. I'm sure we'll create something special together."

At the same time, Charlie Bramald has stepped back from the project due to medical reasons. The band expresses its full support, love, and heartfelt thanks to Charlie for his contributions and wishes him all the very best moving forward.

The band recently announced the release of “Horizons”, a limited, 100-copy hand-numbered compilation celebrating their musical journey, set for release on April 24th.

Further announcements regarding upcoming releases will be made in due course.
