Detroit progressive rock veterans Discipline are back with Breadcrumbs, their ambitious new studio album, releasing August 1, 2025 on acclaimed label ProgRock.com’s Essentials. Known for their intricate arrangements, theatrical performances, and independent spirit, Discipline have been a cornerstone of American prog since forming in 1987, inspiring audiences around the world with their emotional depth and fearless creativity.
Mixed by legendary producer Terry Brown (Rush, Fates Warning) and featuring stunning cover art by Hugh Syme, Breadcrumbs delivers five expansive new tracks that weave cinematic arrangements, captivating melodies, and subtle rhythmic complexity. Longtime frontman and songwriter Matthew Parmenter leads the band through one of their most adventurous efforts yet, joined by long-time compatriot and bassist Mathew Kennedy, Tiles guitarist Chris Herin (who partnered with Parmenter for his recent solo album Hiding in Plain Sight), and award-winning musician and composer Henry Parmenter on drums.
“This album represents some of our most ambitious compositions,” says Parmenter. “We’re excited to share it with both longtime listeners and new audiences.”
