Crossbone Skully’s second album matters because it tests whether Tommy Henriksen’s project can develop beyond the concept-driven punch of 2024’s Evil World Machine. Henriksen brings considerable pedigree: his work with Alice Cooper since 2011 and the Hollywood Vampires has placed him alongside some of rock’s most established players, while his songwriting and production background extends well beyond guitar duties. The first album also established an intriguing relationship with Mutt Lange, whose production philosophy helped anchor its deliberately classic hard-rock character. With Anna Cara now part of the Crossbone Skully line-up, the next chapter raises an interesting question: how far can Henriksen broaden the sound without losing the old-school rock identity at its core?
“Condemned to Rock n’ Roll” draws inspiration from music that has shaped Henriksen throughout this life, from ‘80s metal, classic rock, pop, country and everything in between.
