British progressive rock luminary Clive Nolan is set to release his latest musical masterpiece, The Mortal Light, a 4-CD box set accompanied by three lavish booklets. This ambitious project marks the third instalment in Nolan’s acclaimed Alchemy series, chronicling the thrilling adventures of Professor Samuel King as he faces his most formidable foe yet—Makaria, a malevolent demigod in Norway’s remote Hamningberg. Renowned for his groundbreaking work with Pendragon, Arena, Shadowland, Strangers on a Train, and Caamora, Nolan is celebrated worldwide for his dynamic keyboard skills, orchestral compositions, and innovative storytelling. A classically trained composer with B.Mus and M.Mus degrees from London University, Nolan has also founded The Caamora Theatre Company, Caamora Norway together with the Norwegians Vikings, bringing rock musicals like She, Alchemy, King's Ransom and Songs Of The Wildlands to stages across Europe and South America.

The Mortal Light takes listeners on a sweeping journey from the murky tunnels of London to the desolate Land of the Dead, storm-ravaged seas, dangerous harbors, and the mystical realms of Vardø—culminating in a climactic confrontation with Makaria herself. The musical features twelve principal singers, a 32-voice chorus, twenty-three cameo performances, and a fully immersive orchestral and rock soundtrack, ensuring an unforgettable auditory experience.

Reflecting on the creation of this new musical, Nolan shares: "Writing and recording ‘The Mortal Light’ was a huge challenge. Four years of writing, recording, and coordinating dozens of singers, musicians, and actors. But finally, Professor King’s latest adventure is ready to be heard. I hope fans enjoy this latest adventure with Professor King and his colourful associates."

This 4-CD box set promises not only Nolan’s signature blend of progressive rock and theatrical storytelling but also an expansive collectible experience for fans, with three detailed booklets offering insights into the music, story, and characters.
