THE REVIEW
Words Of Wisdom!
Phew, I am so glad they are back. I was worried we were not going to hear from Creye again, as it has been three years since their last album, and it all went quiet after. The big news is, they have a new vocalist in Simon Boos, plus the line-up has also been partially refreshed. The force behind the band, Andreas Gullstrand, remains at the helm. So… what do we have?
Opener ‘Something Missing’, with its swirling keys, is amazing, and though it is slightly heavier than what we are used to hearing from them, it’s still typical Creye. This leads into the sublime ‘Bad Romance’, and how catchy is this? It is the Creye we love. The quality continues with ‘Rust’, and this is all before we come to one of the best songs I have heard in a long time, the first single ‘Left In Silence’; hopefully, you have heard this… it is amazing, so melodic and catchy… that is Creye!

We are into Pop/Rock territory with ‘Don’t Talk About It’, before the pace picks up with ‘Through The Window’; with great keys throughout, you can’t help but love this song. How the band have matured over time is shown with ‘Only You’; it’s quite heavy for Creye, but the melodies are there still. ‘Glow’ follows a similar pattern, whilst the marvellous ‘Aligned’ is a throwback to previous albums; the chorus will be in your head for weeks. The winners keep coming with ‘The Last Night On Earth’, and again it is what we love. The only negative for me, is that before you know it, we are onto closer ‘Clay’ too soon. This is an AOR track, so what is there not to like?

By now you can probably tell that I am totally overwhelmed with the quality on offer here. I have been a fan of Creye since day one and watching them develop has been a joy; each album is an improvement on the last. In my eyes, they are the best at what they do in this crowded market, and if there was any justice in the world, they would be huge. The changes in line-up have moved them forward even more. They hold a place close to my heart, and I am so glad they are back, and they have delivered an early contender for album of the year.
